Seaboard Speech provides speech therapy for adults and children to help them reach their communication goals, and become the most effective, confident communicators that they can be. Seaboard Speech provides teletherapy services to clients in Virginia, Maryland & DC, with community and home-based in-person services available in areas of Northern Virginia. Meet KaylaKayla is the founder and owner of Seaboard Speech. Her therapy philosophy is collaborative and client-centered, bringing her expertise to help clients meet their communication goals. Kayla views speech therapy as a way to empower clients and families to become their own "speech experts."
She has over 5 years of experience as a speech therapist working with both adults and children in various settings. She specializes in stuttering & fluency disorders and also has experience with aphasia and language disorders, voice disorders, articulation disorders, accent modification, and gestalt language processing. Kayla is passionate about how we communicate with each other, how we communicate with our natural world, and how our natural world communicates with us. She strives to incorporate those values into therapy and into life in general. |
Services:
Seaboard Speech provides teletherapy, as well as community and home-based services in some neighborhoods of Northern Virginia. Community and home-based therapy can incorporate nature-based therapy, which utilizes the outdoor environment to help generalize communication skills using the natural world, and to embrace the healing nature of the Earth as a part of the therapeutic process. These services may take place in a local park, playground, or even in the client's yard. In-person services may be available in the following neighborhoods*:

- Shirlington

Credentials & Certifications:
Kayla received her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland, is certified by ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) and is licensed to provide speech therapy in Maryland, Virginia and DC.
Kayla currently holds the Spero Ally of Stuttering™ Seal, which affirms her continued training in current stuttering treatments and involvement in the stuttering community.
